United States Coast Guard (USCG) History

For Over 200 years, the United States Coast Guard has been protecting the public, the environment, and U.S. economic interests in the nation's ports and waterways, along the coast, international waters, or in any maritime region as required to support national security.

To spotlight the vital work of the United States Coast Guard, the U.S. Government Printing Office is featuring a number of its publications, including Light Lists which include list of lights (lighthouses), sound signals and other aids to navigation by water and some by air as well.
