Middle East

For this category, we are using the broader definition of the Greater Middle East, a political-geographic term used since at least 1980 to refer to the traditional Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq, and to several nearby countries, specifically Iran, Turkey, and Afghanistan. Various North African and Central Asian countries are sometimes also included. The Greater Middle East is sometimes referred to as "The New Middle East."
