It was established on November 29, 1963, by President Lyndon B. Johnson to investigate the assassination of his predecessor, President John F. Kennedy, that had taken place on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. The famous 889-page final report called "The Warren Report" was presented to President Johnson on September 24, 1964, and made public three days later.
