Published annually, Agricultural Statistics serves the statistical needs of the agricultural community and those associated with agricultural production such as commodity brokers and investors and represents the go-to reference covering agricultural production, supplies, consumption, facilities, and market conditions. It’s presented in easy to understand tables designed to be applicable to those who depend upon reliable up-to-date federally produced statistical information.

Statistics associated with foreign trade and Government programs, such as loans made to farmers, and loans made by the Commodity Credit Corporation are also included.

Other tables that contain data developed by the Department of Agriculture are:

• Estimates for crops, livestock, and poultry from the U.S. Department of Agriculture: timely and current State and national totals and averages.
• Survey data supplemented by information from the Censuses of Agriculture also are taken every five years that are estimates subject to revision as more up-to-date data is available from commercial or Government sources.
